Keynote Speaker: Sarah Fisher

IndyCar Pioneer & Entrepreneur

As a 9 time Indy 500 starter – the most by a woman – Sarah Fisher holds many records, including the first woman to win the pole position for a major North American open-wheel event, the fastest woman to ever qualify for the Indianapolis 500 and the still current track record holder at Kentucky Speedway. After 8 years of INDYCAR team ownership, driving for herself in 3 of those years, being awarded "Indy's Best and Brightest Leaders under 40," voted "Most Popular Driver" four times in two separate series (INDYCAR and Nascar), and leading all American Josef Newgarden to his first 2 victories in INDYCAR, it won't surprise you that her newest venture is an Indoor Karting Facility and Racing Restaurant (Speedway Indoor Karting, 1911 Grill) in Speedway, Indiana. Sarah and her husband Andy live on the southside of Indianapolis with their 2 children Zoey (4) and Danny (2).

IMAA’s new Women Leaders in Mining & Aggregates (WLMA) committee is proud to present Ms. Fisher as this year’s Keynote presentation during the General Session.

Reducing Recurring Equipment Failures by Identifying Root Causes

January 29, 2018

Reducing Recurring Equipment Failures by Identifying Root Causes is a workshop which aims to provide the fundamental knowledge and skills to recognize and understand different failure mechanisms; to identify key features of failed components; to differentiate between failures due to lubricant issues and those from other causes; and to take remedial steps to prevent re-occurrence of such failures. The workshop includes seeing firsthand an extensive range of real failed components. This workshop provides essential knowledge for a wide range of technical professionals.

At the end of the day participants will be able to identify key features of failed components, make educated judgements about the cause of failure, using a structured approach, and be able to identify the correct remedial steps required to help prevent such failures from occurring again.

IMAA Trade Show

It is the ideal time and place for IMAA Associate members to display their products and services to a targeted group of Producer members. So as not to distract from the educational aspect of the Workshops, the Trade Show is only open during the scheduled hours.

The Trade Show is open to IMAA Members Only. If you are interested in having a booth at the IMAA Trade Show, but you are not yet a member, please read through our Member Benefits, fill out the online Membership Application form to begin the membership process, or contact the IMAA office if you have any questions.
